Learn about UFOs with iMinds insightful audio knowledge series. On 25 June 1947, Kenneth Arnold, a United States Forest Service employee and private pilot, witnessed nine Unidentified Flying Objects in the sky near Mount Rainier, Washington. This incident was to mark the beginning of a rapid increase in public interest in UFOs. Arnold, who at the time was searching for a downed transport plane, originally thought the objects he saw were jets. However, on closer inspection, he realized the objects had no tails and all but one looked like flat disks. He later described the objects as being similar to saucers skimming across the surface of the water. This description was repeated by a journalist when reporting the story and this is how the term ´´Flying Saucer´´ was coined. While Arnold´s UFO sighting is considered to be the beginning of the modern UFO phenomenon, it is by no means the first reported sighting of an unexplained flying object. In fact, the first recorded UFO sightings in the United States occurred between 1896 and 1897. New Saucerian Press is pleased to present The Perspicacious Percipient: How to Investigate UFOs and Other Insane Urges, a collection of magazine articles by John A. Keel, the man many consider to have been not only the premiere investigator of all things unusual and Fortean but who was also our own 20th-century Mark Twain. Many of the articles in this anthology and its companion volumes, Flying Saucer to the Center of Your Mind, The Outer Limits of the Twilight Zone, Searching for the String, The Great Phonograph in the Sky, and The Passionate Percipient: Illusions I Have Known And Loved, were revolutionary and explored ideas popularized in Keel´s classic books. Written in Keel´s engaging trademark style, they are sure to delight fans with their fresh, unparalleled insights into the nature of reality. In the book, John Keel displays the keen observational skills and investigative tenacity that made him the enfant terrible of ufology for decades. In this no-holds-barred analysis - much of it written decades ago - Keel shreds many of the sacred-cow beliefs still held in ufological and cryptozoological circles today and presents theories so radical that they are only now becoming accepted: the 4-D or interdimensional thesis; the breakaway civilization theory; the possible role of ancient aliens in human history; the synthetic and/or hallucinatory nature of many alien abduction and men in black encounters; the role of spy agencies in paranormal research; and the alarming connection between UFOs, animal mutilations, and attacks on unsuspecting humans. The Perspicacious Percipient is the grand finale to the six-part John Keel Collection series of books - a must-have for serious UFO researchers. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Mark Barnard. The history of the human race and our true origins can be traced back through archeology and a careful study of our past. Many of the world´s ancient sites and amazing artifacts still exist, showing ancient man´s use of advanced technology and writings that clearly illustrate that mankind was mentored by a race of extraterrestrial beings that early man deemed ´´The Gods´´. We explore the origins of the ´´winged disk´´ symbol found in Sumerian and other cultures dating back to 3800 B.C. and possibly far earlier. It was used to depict the home world of where they believed their gods the Anunnaki came from. We now know that planet as Planet X, or ´´Nibiru´´ which stood for ´´planet of the crossing´´ and was symbolized by a winged disk. Science is now detecting a large force that seems to be affecting the motion of the planets and probes we send into space. Astronomers have been searching the cosmos for a large unknown body to explain these effects. See the latest evidence in the search for Planet X, with new data about our binary solar system having two suns and more. Join Jason Martell, star of the History Channel´s Ancient Aliens series, in an in-depth, comprehensive look at our forbidden origins. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Jason Martell.
